As of October, 2016, we have provided over 80 bicycles to members of Lawrence and Eastern Kansas communities through our Earn-a-Bike program.
In August, we partnered with the Topeka Community Cycle Project to provide bikes and bike safety training to members of the Kickapoo Community, and in October, we had a successful bike sale to help fund our operations.
Our 2016 Bike & Brews Cruise fundraiser was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who supported us and helped raise cash for our cause.
2016 is going like gang busters for us, and we’re so proud of our volunteers and our community for all they do.
Over Spring Break, March 2016, we completed our grant partnership with the Douglas County Housing Authority and donated 10 more bikes to kids in Edgewood Homes, as well as locks, helmets and lights. We had a great morning teaching and riding with the kids in East Lawrence.
Our original goal for the grant was 30 bikes, and we ended up donating 32. As of April 2016, our volunteers have earned an additional 15 bikes, for a grand total of 47 bikes rehabilitated for use by members of the community.
We’ve set up shop in the Warehouse Arts District near 9th & Delaware Streets. We don’t have a public store front yet, but you can visit us by appointment. Sign up for updates or to volunteer, and find us on Facebook for all the latest.
